Macarons and Morrocan Poufs

The first and only time I had a macaron was at the Panache Chocolate Festival hosted by Vancouver Foodster and the Renaissance Hotel.  Though there were billions of delicious, mouth-watering chocolate offerings, one of the most memorable treats was the chocolate macaron by Cin Cin's Chef Patissier, Chef Thierry Busset.  I've been waiting patiently for the opening of his shop (atelier thierry).

Macarons really are the girliest of desserts.  Light, fluffy, slightly sweet and gooey in the center and oh-so pretty, how can you resist the urge to squeal when you're presented with an opportunity to enjoy these puffs of delight? They are as esthetically pleasing as they are tasty:

Macarons remind me of the Moroccan poufs that I've always wanted but could never afford:

I couldn't imagine shelling out the same amount I would have spent on my bed (the poufs are more, actually).  Maybe someday I'll attempt to make my own.

  2. Oh....I want a Moroccan pouf so badly - My dream is to walk into a thrift shop or find one on craigslist. I'd be in heaven.

    Thanks for the add!

  3. The system of passing the natural light and air is a better and healthier thought for the owner and members of the house. Thanks for a comfortable decorating design in a wide place.

    1. I agree. It's very pleasing to the eye and allows for some variation in size, shapes, and heights. Thank you for the comment, Emma.
