The Personification of Classic

Today, we have "It" girls, style icons, trendsetters, and fashionistas.  We follow which designer they are wearing (and the way their stylist has them wear the clothing) and become inspired to follow suit (Ha!  See what I did there?).  Rarely does one woman personify class, simplicity, grace and effortless style than the Queen of the Gamines:

Audrey Hepburn embodied such grace in that long neck, those perfectly shaped eyes, that kind disposition, that twinkle of curiosity and that luminous smile.   Audrey Hepburn was just Audrey Hepburn and people loved her and continue to love her because of that.

Classics are considered timeless because their very existence speaks for itself without having to shout out "I'm here!" and it remains current because we fall in love with it each and every time we look at it.

So, as I was searching craigslist for an affordable light grey, upholstered, tuffed headboard (I'm just too lazy to make my own) I came across a couple of refinished pieces from White Wave Vintage:

White Wave Vintage is a home decor and prop company that specializes in refinishing shabby, french provincial furniture and bringing it back to life.

Though there are several ornate details on all pieces, there's something inherently simple about them once they've been refinished and painted white.  I'm able to zero in on what makes them special because it's all out in the open.

Classic.
